The pervasiveness of metamorphoses in
Metamorphose Consulting’s President, Carol Killeen’s life, is reflected in her
thirty-year career. Observing that metamorphoses occur in
biology frequently, quite orderly and with predictable results, Carol has sought
to apply those key principles in her project work within the corporate
healthcare management industry.
“I have always been fascinated by the sheer
number of metamorphoses that occur in nature, and have fashioned my career to
model that of the transformations that occur every day.”
Towards that end, Killeen received a BA in Biology and then went on to earn a
BS in Medical Technology, both from the esteemed University of Colorado. She later metamorphosed further by earning a
MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Ms. Killeen was hired by Abbott Laboratories after graduate school and was assigned to several international roles in Germany. Early
on, Abbott recognized Carol’s leadership and transformational abilities
and moved her to work on many key initiatives, which, in turn exposed
her drive and success to many key stakeholders throughout Abbott
Laboratories.
Upon being transferred back to the US, Carol served as a technical services manager, forming new
teams and applying Six Sigma methodology, worked as a program lead for
Abbott’s Quality Systems Initiative and served as a program manager for
Information Management & Technology.
Whether
the work has been in the multi-cultural strategic development of planning
systems, program management, or creating the organizational readiness to
facilitate a metamorphism within a medical diagnostics company, metamorphose
and transformation have been a central theme in Carol’s Killeen’s work.
“When it became time to choose a name for my consulting
practice, the choice was obvious.”
